Short answers for fans, artists and venues.
For fans
How Live Tonight works
Find live music near you, watch any set live, RSVP if you like, and tap Check In when you arrive. After a show you can scan your receipt to support the band and unlock the bar's offers. It's free.
Why does check-in need my location?
To confirm you're actually at the show. We read your location only at the moment you tap Check In, never in the background. Set Location to "While Using the App" for Live Tonight. After 30 days we keep only which venue you checked in at, not your exact spot.
When can I check in?
From 30 minutes before the show until an hour after it ends, inside the venue.
Scanning a receipt
After you check in, tap Scan Receipt and take a clear photo of the whole receipt, or forward an emailed receipt to the address shown in the app. You have 7 days after the visit. Receipts are reviewed after the show and appear in your history within a few days.
Offers
Offers come from each venue. Some unlock when you check in or scan a receipt; you never have to buy anything to earn one. To use an offer, tap Redeem at the bar and show the code to staff. Offers that involve alcohol are only for guests 21 and over, and the venue will check ID.
Following bands
Tap Follow on a band's page to hear when they're playing near you. Turn alerts on or off in Me → Notifications.
Texts and emails
We send sign-in codes and the reminders you ask for. Marketing messages only if you opted in. Reply STOP to any text to end texts; use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Your privacy and data
You can download your information or delete your account any time: Me → Settings → Privacy. Deleting signs you out everywhere and removes your personal information. We don't sell your information or use advertising trackers. Full details: live-tonight.com/privacy.
I'm in a stream and want a clip removed
Contact us at live-tonight.com/help with the venue, date and roughly when in the set. We'll take it down.
For artists
Getting started
Download Live Tonight, sign in with your phone, choose I'm an artist, and create your act. Your account manager can set it up with you in about 10 minutes.
Your show links
Every show has its own link in your artist app. When a fan clicks your link for a show and then checks in at that show, they count as yours, whether or not they RSVP'd. Fans who come to a different night don't count for that show, so post a fresh link for every show.
How you earn
You earn a credit for every valid receipt scanned by fans who checked in during your set, and a bonus when a fan you brought is a first-time customer at that bar. Current rates are in the app.
Getting paid
Credits are held for a short validation period, then paid to your bank on the schedule shown in your earnings screen. Each member connects their own payout account; the act's admin sets the split. If you see Action needed, finish the identity or tax step to release payouts.
Streaming, clips and covers
Your sets stream live at Live Tonight venues. Your original songs can be archived and clipped so you can share them; covers stream live only and aren't archived. Mark which songs are originals in your profile. You own your music; ask us to remove any clip any time.
Fair play
Only real fans, real visits and real receipts count. Fake or borrowed receipts, location tricks, or paying fans to scan lead to reversed credits and closed accounts.
For venues
Your dashboard
Tonight's stream and check-ins, verified visits by show, first-time vs returning customers, the visit curve, which bands bring people, your offers and billing. Sign in at live-tonight.com/venue.
Stopping a stream
Dashboard → Tonight → Stop stream. It ends within seconds and stays off until you restart it.
Creating offers
Offers → New. Set a discount at or above your cost, a free food or non-alcoholic item, or a cover waiver. The app blocks free alcohol, offers that require buying alcohol, and anything below cost, and shows alcohol offers only to guests 21 and over.
Your invoice
Monthly: your subscription (if any) plus a fee for each verified visit. A verified visit is a customer whose phone shows them in your bar during a scheduled show, counted at most once a week per customer. Your Order Form sets your rates.
Disputing a fee
Billing → Dispute, within 30 days of the invoice. We review the check-in and receipt records and credit anything we can't support.
Weekly POS export
Upload your point-of-sale export under Billing → POS export. It keeps receipt matching and your spend numbers accurate.
The appliance
It belongs to Live Tonight and we maintain it. Keep it plugged in and on its network cable. If the stream drops, unplug it for 10 seconds and plug it back in, then call support if it isn't back in 3 minutes.
